Emily Henry, author of Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation has written another wonderfully funny, sensitive, enjoyable love story which has the makings of a Hallmark movie。Nora Stephens loves books。 That’s why she thrives as a literary agent。 One of her clients is Dusty Fielding whose books are set in a small town called Sunshine Falls, North Carolina。 But to her disbelief, no one seems very interested in her next novel, all except Nora。Enter Charlie Lastra a book editor in New York who No Emily Henry, author of Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation has written another wonderfully funny, sensitive, enjoyable love story which has the makings of a Hallmark movie。Nora Stephens loves books。 That’s why she thrives as a literary agent。 One of her clients is Dusty Fielding whose books are set in a small town called Sunshine Falls, North Carolina。 But to her disbelief, no one seems very interested in her next novel, all except Nora。Enter Charlie Lastra a book editor in New York who Nora meets to discuss Dusty’s next book。 It does not go well。 Not only does he think the book is a failure which Nora can’t believe, but the two seem as if they would never have been able to work together anyway。Time moves forward and just as Noral predicted Dusty’s new book is a hit。 With more money than she ever thought she would make; she finally is able to relax。 She gets together with her pregnant sister Libby who she has been neglecting because she has been so busy。 The two sisters are very close。 Their mother died suddenly years ago, and Nora had to step in and become a surrogate caretaker, a job she still feels obligated to do and would not think of giving up, even though Libby is happily married with children。Libby’s favorite author is none other than Dusty Fielding。 Since she will be giving birth again soon, she has the idea that she and her sister should have one last hurrah and visit Sunshine Falls to see what the place really is like。 They could spend the month of August there with Nora working remotely and they could even put together a bucket list of Sunshine Falls activities。 Although this doesn’t seem to be the vacation of a lifetime Nora would have chosen for them, she can never say no to Libby, so, off they go!But Sunshine Falls initially does not seem to be the happy place they thought。 There is one cab in town which only goes certain places and lets you out to walk the rest of the way, the bookstore is the only place with spotted Wi-Fi and the one restaurant in the town does not cater to vegetarians and ordering salads is just about against the law! But they are there to bond, so Nora decides to just sit back and relax and enjoy her time with Libby。 Then she sees what could only be described as a ghostly apparition…what possibly could her nemesis Charlie Lastra be doing in Sunshine Falls? I mean, he hated Dusty’s last book! And so, begins the love/hate relationship between two people who desperately both love books…but just not each other。 Then they are thrown together by the literary gods and must work together。 What could possibly go wrong! As time goes by during their visit Nora and Libby begin to learn about each other and how the trauma of their mother’s death perhaps had never been fully put to rest。 With Nora now busy working with Charlie whom she begins to see differently, she also begins to feel her sister somehow slipping away from her。 She just can’t figure out why。What’s going on?Book Lovers is a sentimental reader’s dream, filled with funny, crazy characters and even a smoking hot construction worker! The witty dialogue entices the reader to read on, but also makes them wish the story will never come to an end。Thank you #NetGalley #Berkley #EmilyHenry #BookLovers for the advanced copy。 。。。more

I am a sucker for a grumpy hero and I got exactly what I wanted with this story。 There was so much happening here, but it never felt chaotic or unorganized。 It was definitely a love story, but more than just romantic love。 It was about loving ourselves and how to love other without being a martyr。 I really enjoyed the town of Sunshine Falls and it's inhabitants。 I am a sucker for a grumpy hero and I got exactly what I wanted with this story。 There was so much happening here, but it never felt chaotic or unorganized。 It was definitely a love story, but more than just romantic love。 It was about loving ourselves and how to love other without being a martyr。 I really enjoyed the town of Sunshine Falls and it's inhabitants。 。。。more

You know how in every Hallmark or Lifetime holiday movie the lead falls for a small-town baker and dumps their big-city high-profile girlfriend or boyfriend? at this point, i’d literally read anything emily henry writes tbh! i can’t put into words how much this book means to be and how it makes me feel… but what i’ll say is that the emotional connection between the couples in henry’s books are just amazing, and that is what makes me love romance books so much。 in addition to that, all of her characters feel so mundane yet so real and relatable, like i could imagine myself hanging out with them and this is one of the author’s strongest writing ability at this point, i’d literally read anything emily henry writes tbh! i can’t put into words how much this book means to be and how it makes me feel… but what i’ll say is that the emotional connection between the couples in henry’s books are just amazing, and that is what makes me love romance books so much。 in addition to that, all of her characters feel so mundane yet so real and relatable, like i could imagine myself hanging out with them and this is one of the author’s strongest writing ability in my opinion。p。s。 sorry to gust and alex, but charlie lastra is my man <3 。。。more

How does Emily Henry keep getting better and better at writing the exact book I need before even I know I would need it? I don't even know if that first sentence makes any sense, because I'm still simply too overwhelmed by this book。 Oh my god, it was just spectacular and amazing and perfect。 Nora is a tough-as-nails literary agent in New York with a disastrous track record when it comes to relationships。 In fact, she's getting dumped by phone by her latest boyfriend, right before she's meeting How does Emily Henry keep getting better and better at writing the exact book I need before even I know I would need it? I don't even know if that first sentence makes any sense, because I'm still simply too overwhelmed by this book。 Oh my god, it was just spectacular and amazing and perfect。 Nora is a tough-as-nails literary agent in New York with a disastrous track record when it comes to relationships。 In fact, she's getting dumped by phone by her latest boyfriend, right before she's meeting with Charlie, an editor with a reputation for turning good manuscripts into pure gold。 And he knows he's good。 Needless to say, they don't hit it off。 Fast-forward to August and Nora's sister Libby convinces her to go on vacation with her to the small town that inspired a bestseller written by one of Nora's clients。 Nora, the exact opposite of a small-town girl, isn't thrilled but she has always done her best to make Libby happy。 So off they go to this small town in the middle of nowhere where nobody knows them。 Except that guy in the coffee shop does look a lot like Charlie。。。A small-town enemies-to-lovers romance with complicated family relationships, featuring a snarky main character who falls for the grumpy-by-circumstances love interest? It's like Emily Henry took all the top-tier romance tropes, poured them into a witch's cauldron, and one hocus pocus abracadabra spell (aka months of writing) later: voilà, the perfect romance novel。 Charlie might actually be the best love interest of any romance novel I've read up to date。 He's just so swoony。 And he completely gets who Nora is, and he loves her for who she is。 She's shocked people in the publishing business see her as a shark with blood dripping from her teeth, and meanwhile there's Charlie all but shouting from the rooftops how he has the hots for sharky Nora。 I just couldn't resist him (and neither could Nora)。 I love the amount of literary references。 It might seem quite obvious to include some when your main characters are both in publishing, but at times it seemed like the references in this book come at a rate of about 5 per page。 It would actually be a fun challenge to read all the books and authors mentioned in this book, but I'm guessing you'd need a year or so to complete the challenge。 It's not going to be easy for Emily Henry to outdo herself with the next book。 That's what I thought after Beach Read and then People We Meet On Vacation proved me wrong。 And I said the same thing after PWMOV and now Book Lovers has shown me once again how wrong I was。 Frankly, at this point the only thing I'm certain about is that Emily Henry owns me。 Plain and simple。(I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。) 。。。more

Charlie Lastra。 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻That is the review。This is a book for eldest daughters。 The eldest daughters who love work and constantly think about taking care of their little sister。 Who make lists and have to plan everything out to a T。 I’ve never related to a main character more。 Nora only uses pilot G2s (aka the best pen of all time。) She found escape through movies as a kid and references them all the time (I love a good Coyote Ugly reference。) She makes checklists and drinks things too quickly。 Sh Charlie Lastra。 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻That is the review。This is a book for eldest daughters。 The eldest daughters who love work and constantly think about taking care of their little sister。 Who make lists and have to plan everything out to a T。 I’ve never related to a main character more。 Nora only uses pilot G2s (aka the best pen of all time。) She found escape through movies as a kid and references them all the time (I love a good Coyote Ugly reference。) She makes checklists and drinks things too quickly。 She takes a trip to a town where every shop name is a pun!! I was expecting more rivalry/enemies, but it wasn't like that。 There are also times that I honestly couldn't picture Nora and Charlie together other than as friends。 As if the chemistry wasn't all that appealing to me。Overall, was this a letdown? I adore the book innuendos and the overall summer/small romance vibe。 If you enjoy reading books about these subjects, I recommend Beach Read instead。I guess 3。5 ★ then。 。。。more

I’m convinced Emily Henry cannot write a bad book。 The banter? Hilarious。 The characters? Swoony and well developed。 This book makes you root for every single person that is mentioned。 I loved the idea behind it, the topics it dealt with, and the emotions you can’t help but feel。 Emily Henry writes romances that are funny yet filled with depth。 She’s an auto buy author for me, and this book didn’t disappoint。 A perfect summer read!
